Battles

Kirby is paired up with a Researcher in battle. The tapes they use together are based on the monster associated with the Ranger Noticeboard quest Hoylake's Assistant, as well as its remasters.

If the quest's chosen species is a remaster, Kirby's first tape will be the chosen species. If it is a remaster, his first tape will instead be the species's remaster line in order, and his partner's first tape will be the quest's chosen species.

Their team can have anywhere from four to six tapes total, depending on how many times this quest has been cleared. Any remaining tapes from the total are guaranteed to be a Bootleg, but they cannot be Glitter type or be the same type as the species' original type.
