Partner Interactions in the Gramophone Café

Felix and Kayleigh

  • Kayleigh: Hey, I have a question for you, Felix! I know you draw cartoons, but do you also design tattoos?
  • Felix: I can’t say I have! Are you looking to get inked?
  • Kayleigh: Hmm. I think I like the idea of getting a tattoo in theory.
  • Kayleigh: But in reality, I think I’m just too indecisive. I couldn’t possibly make such a permanent decision.

Felix and Eugene

  • Eugene: ...So you quit your job, because your bosses kept screwing you around?
  • Felix: Pretty much. It’s more than that, though. If I went to work somewhere else, I’d just have another boss giving me orders.
  • Felix: The only way to break the cycle is to work for myself. No more bosses.
  • Eugene: Yeah! That’s the spirit! No more bosses – live on your own terms, man!
  • Felix: Though my career plans have hit a roadblock recently. I think it happened after I fell through time and space and ended up living on monster island.
  • Eugene: It happens to the best of us!

Felix and Meredith

  • Meredith: ...My music tastes?
  • Felix: Yeah! What did you used to listen to back in your world?
  • Meredith: That’s a broad question. I like bands where all the members hate each other.
  • Felix: That’s very specific.
  • Meredith: I’m a very specific person.

Felix and Viola

  • Viola: Surely, Felix, you have longed for freedom upon the seas? To sail to lands that are not yet even a splinter upon the horizon?
  • Felix: Well, finding freedom in my life is important to me, but sailing the seven seas isn’t entirely what I have in mind.
  • Felix: Working for myself and living on my own terms, though? That sounds pretty good to me.
  • Viola: Perhaps you would also find fulfilment on the sea. You will never truly know for sure without setting sail!
  • Felix: I suppose not!

Felix and Barkley

  • Felix: You pack a loud bark for such a small package, don’t you?
  • Barkley: Arf!
