** Perhaps coincidentally, the ship bears a passing resemblance to the fictional ship Titan from the 1898 novel The Wreck of the Titan: Or, Futility, described as the fastest and longest British ocean liner in the narrative. Like Titania, the ship derives her name from the Titans of Greco-Roman mythology. The book itself would later draw parallels with the real-life incident of the HMS Titanic, regarding the order of events, the method of their sinking, and their names.
